If your family tree is fairly straightforward, I recommend you just start by buying a subscription to Ancestry.com. This is an American company and has the largest database of records. You then enter details of yourself, parents and other relatives that you know about and go from there. It will suggest possible ancestors which you are then prompted to confirm or reject. But beware - there are some traps! The suggestions may be incorrect, causing you to follow the wrong line, so you need to cross-check by assuming the suggestion is correct and then working backwards. If you have any problems, email us at info@familytree.expert and we'll do our best to help.
